BENJAMIN FERGUSON

Born in East Sussex, Ben is a London-based pianist, arranger and musical director whose work has taken him to perform around the world in venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Buckingham Palace in London, the MGM Grand Garden Arena Las Vegas and the Air Canada Centre, Toronto. He trained at the University of Manchester, and on the Musical Direction postgraduate course at the Royal Academy of Music.

Work as musical supervisor/director includes: Ragtime (Bishopsgate Institute), Company, Carousel, Assassins (RAM), Sweeney Todd, Cabaret (University of Manchester), Thoroughly Modern Millie (RNCM), Pirates Of Penzance (Hurstpierpoint College), Godspell (Tonbridge School). As Assistant MD: Princess Caraboo (Finborough Theatre) Industry Showcase, Curtain Up (RAM), Spring Awakening, Back To Broadway (University of Manchester). Alongside these he works the London Musical Theatre Orchestra.

He is the composer & lyricist of 'Whose Life Is It Anyway?' and 'Hotel Messina', both premiered at Hurstpierpoint College, where he is the Associate Composer, and is an alumnus of the YMT UK's Young Writers and Composers Scheme. He is also an Gold Medal National Barbershop Quartet singer with 'Tagline', and was founding MD of the award-winning Manchester University Barbershop Singers.
