George H Croom (director/music director) has directed/choreographed regional
productions of Company, Blood Brothers, Bonnie and Clyde, Merrily We Roll
Along, Sweeney Todd, 9 To 5, Damn Yankees, Side By Side By Sondheim, The
Odd Couple, On The Twentieth Century, Me And My Girl, You Can’t Take It With
You, The Woods, Spamalot, Something Rotten, The Last Five Years and
Assassins. As a music director his most recent shows include Miss Saigon,
Ragtime, Nine, Kiss Of The Spiderwoman, Urinetown, 42 nd Street, Cabaret,
Personals, The Pirates of Penzance, City Of Angels, Songs For A New World,
and West Side Story.
As an actor, his credits include national tours of Evita,
Purlie and Godspell; off-Broadway in Celebration, Sweethearts and The Wind In
The Willows; regional credits include Cats, Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner
(regional premiere), Swing!, As You Like It, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Bat Boy,
Children Of Eden and The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare (abridged).
He was music director for the NY premiere of The Scarlet Letter and Shakedown
Street (also arrangements) and the European premiere of Myths And Hymns.
Is currently working on a musical based on the lives of Stephen Foster and
Solomon Northup. He will be appearing in The Exonerated at Ridgefield Barn in
the fall.
