STEPHEN HILL
Stephen was born and educated in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, initially training in Law but then studied singing at the Royal College of Music making his South Bank debut with a performance of Bach’s ST MATTHEW PASSION at the Royal Festival Hall conducted by Sir David Willcocks.
His West End credits includes the original London cast of SWEENEY TODD at Drury Lane, JEEVES TAKES CHARGE at the Fortune Theatre and CATS at the New London Theatre where has Vocal Supervisor for 12 years He directed his vocal group THE STEPHEN HILL SINGERS making frequent recordings for radio TV and films including Kenneth Branagh’s blockbuster HENRY V. and CITY OF JOY (with Patrick Swayze). They also recorded the RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL CHRISTMAS ALBUM for Sony and appeared in the Victoria Wood AS SEEN ON TV series.
Much in demand as a vocal coach, director and arranger, Stephen was Choral Director of the Musical Theatre Degree Course at the Royal Academy of Music and Choral Director for Elton John’s concerts at the Royal Opera House in 2000, his 2004 UK Tour, sell-out performances at New York’s Radio City Music Hall and finale segment of CONCERT FOR DIANA live from Wembley.
Stephen is currently Choral Director at the London College of Music and Repertoire Coach/Choral Director at MHTC.
